Transcarpathia - The Edge of a Country on the Edge
A trip to Transcarpathia, an approach to its everyday life and its people leads to a lot of different emotions each time. In pictures I wanted to try to mediate to the interested western viewer the Transcarpathia I experienced on my trip.

Language attaches names to objects. Photography allows the object to „speak” to the observer itself. And it depends on the respective observer how and if he understands. Photography deliberately leaves it open what is the „supreme knowledge“ about each and every object. It is a modest language which does not label and does not value in advance. Every object, as tiny as it may be, has the right to stand namelessly for itself and to get its “story” across individually.
Scotland - Highlands
There are many myths, fairy tales and legends concerning the Scottish highlands. They say that there are goblins and fairies in the soft, mossy hills and in the ruins of the many old castles, and monsters are said to live in the depths of the mysterious Scottish lakes, the so-called lochs. Scarcely anybody has ever seen one of these creatures and you may even laugh at such stories. But if you ever spend some time in the Scottish highlands, if you gaze at the soft waves of Loch Ness for some time or if you look across the green wide fields on which the sun and the clouds paint their changing patterns, you will understand.
Basst scho!
In this book the author manages the balancing act between scientific correctness and casual conversation tone. »Basst scho!« offers explanations to meaning and origin of about 1.000 words. The information on pronunciation and morphology of the Bavarian confirms that Bavarian undoubtedly is an autonomous linguistic system which is to a great extent independent of German literary language.
Basst scho! Part II
After the success of »Basst scho 1« last year, »Basst scho 2« continues the series of explanations on the Bavarian language. Scientific correctness is presented to the reader in a casual conversation tone. The book contains explanations on meaning and origin of more than 1,000 words and word forms; the index contains the vocabulary of both the first and the second volume with 3,000 headwords. The explanations on vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation of the Bavarian language back up the fact that Bavarian is a language system in its own right and that it is to a large extent independent from German literary language.
Basst scho! Part III
In volume 3 the author again manages the balancing act between scientific correctness and casual conversation tone. Like volume 1 and 2, volume 3 once more offers explanations to meaning and origin of words that only exist in Old Bavaria (Altbayern). With more than 4,000 headwords the index contains the vocabulary of the first, second and third volume. The information on pronunciation and morphology of the Bavarian confirms once more that Bavarian is an autonomous linguistic system which is to a great extent independent of German literary language.
